Our Guided Rock Climbing adventures are personalized outings designed to meet the needs of each individual client. Whether your goal is to learn advanced technical skills or simply to experience a hassle-free day of climbing in Hong Kong, we can plan a session to help you accomplish it.

Guided Climbing is available as either a full day (6 - 6.5 hours) or a half day (3 - 3.5 hours), with some flexibility for starting times.

The trip fee includes rental of all personal gear (helmet, harness, climbing shoes). Hong Kong Mountaincraft will provide all ropes and hardware.

Central Crags

Beginners to Experts

Central Crags is our most popular climbing destination and is an excellent introduction to Hong Kong rock climbing. Located directly above the city with panoramic views of the skyline, Central has a variety of high-quality climbs ranging in difficulty from moderate to very hard, making it a great choice for climbers of all levels.

Monkey Buttress

Beginners to Experts

Monkey Buttress has the shortest approach of any crag in Hong Kong, located a stone's throw from the bus terminus, ideal for a half-day session. Climbs range from very easy to very difficult, and it's ideal both for families with children and advanced climbers trying to fit as much climbing as possible in a short time.

Pok Fu Lam

Beginners to Intermediate

Pok Fu Lam is a single pitch crag located directly above the reservoir of the same name. A relaxed approach, shady belays and moderate climbing make this another good location for beginners on a half-day session.

Shek O

Beginners to Intermediate

Shek O is a sea cliff located on a peninsula to the south of Hong Kong Island the solid, easily protectible rock makes it an excellent place for the budding trad climber. It's also a great destination for bouldering, with a number of accessible problems of a variety of difficulties.

Sunset Forest

Beginners to Experts

Sunset Forest is a bouldering area located on the South slopes of Kowloon Peak. A variety of large, granite boulders with protectable landings make this a good location for those dipping their toes into outdoor bouldering for the first time.

Lingnan Slabs

Beginners to Intermediate

Lingnan Slabs is a multipitch area with a variety of moderate climbs, and is home to one of the longest and most accessible multipitch climbs in Hong Kong. This location is best for morning sessions, introductions to multipitch climbing, and evening climbs above the city lights.

Kowloon Peak

Intermediate to Experts

Kowloon Peak is a classic area, home to some of the highest-quality trad climbing in the region. A strenuous approach makes this a full-day area only, but it boasts glorious views and excellent exposure. The ability to follow trad routes is a requirement for this area, and it is best suited for climbers with previous experience. Due to its south facing position, this location is out-of-season during the summer months.

Lion Rock

Intermediate to Experts

Lion rock boasts some of the most iconic climbing lines in Hong Kong. The multipitch routes here require traditional protection to ascend safely, and there are no beginner routes available, making this a location best suited for those with previous outdoor climbing experience. Due to its south facing position, this location is out-of-season during the summer months.

Temple Crag

Intermediate to Experts

Located on the south coast of Lantau Island, Temple Crag is one of the most secluded climbing locations in Hong Kong. With multipitch, top quality face climbing, the lengthy approach makes this a full-day location only.
